Riya had recently started working at a busy marketing company in the city. The office environment was energetic but often stressful. Deadlines were tight, meetings were frequent, and everyone seemed to be constantly rushing to complete their tasks.
One week, the team was preparing an important campaign for a new client. The pressure was high because the client expected creative ideas and quick results. During the planning meetings, small disagreements began to appear among the team members.
At first, the disagreements were minor. But one colleague, Vikram, had a habit of interrupting others while they spoke. Every time someone presented an idea, he quickly criticized it. His behavior started to aggravate the tension in the room.
Riya noticed that each interruption seemed to aggravate the situation further. Team members became defensive, discussions turned into arguments, and progress slowed down. Instead of solving problems, people were becoming frustrated with each other.
During one meeting, the manager paused the discussion and asked everyone to take a short break. While the others stepped out, Riya approached Vikram privately. She calmly explained that constantly interrupting others could aggravate the team’s stress and make collaboration harder.
Vikram was surprised at first, but he listened carefully. He admitted that he had been too focused on pointing out problems rather than helping the team improve ideas.
In the next meeting, Vikram changed his approach. Instead of criticizing immediately, he asked questions and allowed others to finish speaking. The atmosphere improved quickly. Without constant interruptions to aggravate the mood, the team began working smoothly again.
Within a few days, they developed an excellent campaign proposal. The client loved the idea and approved the project.
Riya realized something important from that experience. Sometimes a small behavior can aggravate an already stressful situation. But with awareness and cooperation, even tense environments can become productive and positive again.
