The annual science exhibition at Riverdale School was always a big event. Students spent weeks building creative models and experiments. This year, two classmates, Aarav and Kabir, were working together on a project about renewable energy.
At first, everything went smoothly. Aarav focused on designing the solar panels, while Kabir handled the electrical connections. But as the deadline approached, tension began to rise.
Kabir believed the model needed a powerful motor to impress the judges. Aarav disagreed and insisted that the project should focus on efficiency rather than speed. Their arguments became louder each day.
Soon the disagreement turned into a serious conflict. Kabir felt Aarav was ignoring his ideas, while Aarav believed Kabir was trying to control the entire project. Their teammates tried to appease them, suggesting small compromises, but neither student listened.
One afternoon their science teacher, Mrs. Sharma, noticed the problem. She calmly asked both students to explain their ideas. As they spoke, it became clear that both plans had value.
Mrs. Sharma suggested combining their approaches. The model could include a smaller motor that demonstrated movement without wasting energy. She explained that the goal was not to appease one person but to find a balanced solution.
Aarav and Kabir finally understood. Instead of arguing, they began working together again. Kabir adjusted the motor design, while Aarav improved the solar panel efficiency. Slowly, the tension disappeared.
On exhibition day, their project attracted a lot of attention. Judges appreciated how the model showed both innovation and efficiency.
Later, Kabir admitted something to Aarav. “I kept trying to prove my idea was better,” he said. “But sometimes the real solution isn’t to appease someone or win an argument. It’s to listen.”
Aarav nodded. That lesson stayed with them long after the exhibition ended.
